"IE 3.0 or higher is required" message when accessing help via the Office Assistant

You may see this message even though you have IE 5 or better running.

In the Registry, change :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer]

"Build"="5.00.3103.1000" to "53103" (without the quotes).

Caution: Messing with the registry can be hazardous to your PC. It's always best to back up the registry before making any changes to it. If you don't know how to do this, it may be best to find someone who does and get them to help you make any needed changes.
