Saving backwards to PowerPoint 95

What happens to your presentation when you save as PowerPoint 95?

Before doing this, consider whether you really, really need to. Unless you need to share your presentation with PowerPoint 95 users, there's no reason to save as anything but a normal PowerPoint file. All versions from PowerPoint 97 onward use the same file format.

If you really do need to create presentations for PowerPoint 95 users, understand that your presentations that include images will become very large. Huge. Monstrous. OK. You get the idea. Big.

Also see Saving Presentations in PowerPoint 95 Format to learn what other changes occur when you save to PowerPoint 95 format.

And remember, you can always include a copy of one of the free PowerPoint viewers so people with older versions of PowerPoint (or no PowerPoint) can view and print (but not edit) your presentation.
