Optimizer system requirements
Hardware Requirements
If your computer works well with the PowerPoint files you typically work with, it will work very well with Optimizer.
Office/PowerPoint and Windows versions
Optimizer is an add-in for Windows PowerPoint. It works with these versions of PowerPoint:
- PowerPoint 97
- PowerPoint 2000
- PowerPoint 2002 (aka XP)
- PowerPoint 2003
- PowerPoint 2007 (provisionally ... see below)
It works in any version of Windows that's compatible with your version of PowerPoint.
Optimizer doesn't work with PowerPoint for Macintosh, but should work well when installed in a Windows virtual machine under Microsoft Virtual PC (VPC).
Optimizer doesn't work with operating systems that don't have a native version of PowerPoint. If you have a Windows emulator that supports one of the versions of PowerPoint listed above, Optimizer should work as well.
What About Office 2007?
Our add-ins will install in Office 2007 and are generally compatible with it. When you install them, you'll see a new "Add-ins" item on the Office "ribbon". Our add-ins will appear there. There won't be any new toolbars or PPTools menu item. Office 2007 no longer has toolbars and menus.
