Get rid of the outline pane and navigation controls in HTML from PowerPoint 2000 and up
Problem
By default, PowerPoint includes a list of slide titles in a frame on the left of the actual slide and a frame below the slide with navigation buttons. If you create your own navigation buttons in PowerPoint, you don't need these extra features, especially since they take up space and make the HTML slower to display.
Solution
In PowerPoint 2000 through 2003, you can get rid of the slide list and navigation frame:
Choose Tools, Options
Click the General tab in the Options dialog box
Click the Web Options button on the General tab
Click the General tab in the Web Options dialog box
Remove the checkmark next to "Add slide navigation controls"
Click OK to dismiss the Web Options dialog box
Click OK to dismiss the Options dialog box
PowerPoint's Save To Web feature should now give you HTML with just the slides, nothing more.
You can test this quickly: Choose File, Web Page Preview to see what your presentation will look like in HTML.
Don't forget to add your own navigation buttons to the presentation; otherwise you won't be able to move from one slide to the next in the HTML version of your presentation.
